Lana Collins, 73, Chubbuck passed away Sunday January 5, 2013, from complications related to a hip fracture. She was surrounded by her family. She/Lana was born March 8, 1940 in Pocatello, Idaho to Louis and Venus Hansen and was raised by her loving Aunt Mable and Uncle Louis McNichols. She attended St. Joseph's Parochial school where she met the love of her life David Rodger Collins. In 7th grade, David told his mother he had met the girl he was going to marry! They graduated from Pocatello High School in 1958 and were married shortly after that. Lana went to work at Idaho Bank & Trust so Dave could continue his education at Idaho State College. This began a lifelong, successful career in banking. Lana worked in the banking industry for over 50 years, originally retiring from Key Bank as Branch Manager, then returning to work and finally retiring from Citizens Community Bank. Lana and David lived life to its fullest and created lasting friendships and memories in Las Vegas Nevada, San Jose, California, and eventually back in Idaho. Everyone who knew Lana truly loved her for her kind spirit and sense of humor. Whether she was camping, or fishing, cooking up a fabulous meal, or hanging out with friends, Lana's kind spirit and sense of humor were present. The greatest joys in her life were her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her two daughters, Karen (Scott) Donaldson and Julie (Phil) Stone, her grandson Eric (and fiancé Natalia), her granddaughter Brittney Stone and James Stott, and her granddaughter Jennifer Donaldson. She is also survived by David's brother Ben (and Iva) Collins, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and half-brothers and sisters. She loved them all dearly and they loved her. Lana lost her husband and soul mate, David, in 1998 and when he died a big piece of her heart died with him. Please join us in celebrating Lana's life and the peace that comes from her being reunited with David. We can feel their joy in our hearts. We would love to hear fond memories at her viewing on Friday, January 10th, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello.Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 1 pm in the St. Anthony Chapel, 504 N. 7th Ave., Pocatello.
