He was the son of the late Raymond and Ethel (O'Mara) Hanley.

A lifelong resident of Oswego, he is survived by his wife of forty years, the former Barbara King; his daughters Elaine (Michael Collins) of Morrisville, PA, Jennifer (Marc Isser), of Washington, D.C., and Victoria of Blue Bell, PA; and his beloved dog Player.

He was pre-deceased by his son Craig in 1972, his brother Frederick, his sister Winifred "Chickie" McManus, his niece Megan and his nephew Owen King.

He is survived by four siblings: Raymond (Amy) Hanley of Vero Beach, FL; Mary (Robert) Munski of Webster, NY; Patricia (Ranald) Bleakley of Marcellus, NY and Richard (Ceal) Hanley of Wilmington, NC.
He is also survived by his sister-in-law Frances Hanley, his mother-in-law Rita King and his aunt Patricia Hanley, all of Oswego, NY, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition, he is survived by four brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert and Carol King of Montpelier, VT; James and Nancy King of Mattydale, NY; Michael and Juli King of Colorado Springs, CO; and David and Linda King of Oswego, NY.

Mr. Hanley was a devout Catholic and a lifelong member of St. Paul's Parish, where he attended elementary school. After his graduation from Oswego High School, he served a union apprenticeship with Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Local #54, and was a current member of BAC #1. He worked on many construction projects throughout Central New York, including the brickwork on his home parish of St. Paul's. His last project was the Oswego City Library addition and restoration.

Mr. Hanley will be remembered as an avid hunter, fisherman, reader, and cook.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was very proud of his Irish heritage and was particularly proud of his three daughters. He maintained his sense of humor and concern for others throughout his latest illness.
