TASSELL Evelyn Juanita Greenwade, passed from this life on Wed., Dec. 14, 2005.

She was born on Oct. 28, 1923, the eighth of ten children to Alta and Mamie Greenwade. She spent her childhood in Whitney, TX. She graduated from Whitney High School in 1941.

After graduation she moved to Pharr, TX and worked as the manager of an H.E.B. grocery store. It was in Pharr she met Fred C. Tassell, Jr. After a ten day courtship they were married on May 23, 1945 in a garden wedding at the home of his parents. This marriage has flourished for 61 years.

In Aug. of 1946, they moved to OKC. Nita and Fred raised their family and built a successful commercial refrigeration business in south OKC. They were members of Southminister Presbyterian Church for 57 years. In the late '60's they moved to rural Norman and have lived there happily for over 30 years.

Mrs. Tassell is survived by her husband, Fred of the home; daughters, Pat Hackler, Kay Herriott, Deby Peck; sons-in-law, Bob Herriott and Jim Peck; 4 grandsons; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Nancy Johnson; brother-in-law, Art Tassell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She has had a wonderful 82 years, she is the heart of our family and we are most grateful and better for having shared her life.
