June 1, 2016 - The William Carroll Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will honor William Jasper Samford and his wife, Barbara Snider Samford and their descendants on Saturday, June 4, at 10am with a ceremony at the cemetery at the First Methodist Church in Center. In case of rain, the ceremony will be held at the Historic Courthouse on the Square.
At that time memorial medallions will be placed at the grave of Elkanah Samford and the grave of Jemima Jane Hughes Samford and medallions will be presented for William Jasper and Barbara, their son Snider and their grandson William Jasper, who are buried at Forbis Cemetery and Sandhill Cemetery.
If you are a descendant of William and Barbara or any of their eleven children or are interested in honoring one of the families who helped create and maintain the Republic of Texas, come join us.
