She was born November 24, 1979 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She graduated from Excelsior Springs High School. She was the manager at Tucks Bar, and formerly worked at 54th Street Bar and Grill. She enjoyed playing with her kids and reading the Bible. She was a Christian. Melissa was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, William & Annette Lawrence. Survivors include her mother, Debbie Lawson of St. Joseph; 2nd father, Mark Lawson; and father Alan L Mace; a son, Boston Lawrence; a daughter, Haylee Bird; two brothers, Brandon Vogel of San Francisco, California; and Alan C. Mace of St. Joseph; two nephews, Hayden Mace, and Alan C. Mace Jr.; her companion, Jared Bird of St. Joseph; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
