Marie D. Cygan, 90, of Carlynn Drive in Renfrew died Thursday at Sugar Creek Rest, near Worthington.
Born June 20, 1914, in Renovo, Clinton County, she was a daughter of Pedro "Peter" and Angela Roberto Malizia.
She formerly lived in Emporium, Cameron County, where she married Albert Micklich on Feb. 6, 1932. He was killed in a hunting accident Dec. 1, 1956. While living in Emporium, she owned and operated a beauty salon from 1957 to 1962.
She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Lyndora.
Surviving are her second husband, John Cygan, whom she married Aug. 8, 1964; a son, John Micklich of Emporium; two brothers, Ernest Malizia of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Carl Malizia of Emporium; and two sisters, Mrs. Virginia "Ginny" Weaver of Wilmington, N.C., and Edith Malizia Grandits of Williamsburg, N.Y. Also surviving are three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Five brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
CYGAN - Friends of Marie D. Cygan, who died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at EDWARD M. BARNETT FUNERAL HOME, 204 E. Fourth St., Emporium. Visitation also will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 25 Evergreen Drive, Lyndora. The Rev. Stefan Zencuch will officiate. Burial will follow at North Side Cemetery.
Parastas services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
