Randy Jay Cook, age 47, of Grand Junction CO, had his life taken from him on January 1, 2014, shortly after the new year had started.

Randy was born in Grand Junction, CO to Theodore James Cook and Barbara Jean Newman on December 30, 1966.

Randy was raised in Grand Junction, and attended Central High School. He raced the Nation Circuit in motorcross for most of his youth and was once ranked tenth in the state.

Randy was a realtor with Hill and Homes Real Estate and a business owner of RJ Construction. He loved to ski, boating in Lake Powell, being involved in the annual supercross races held in Grand Junction, and spending time with his loved ones.

Randy was a family man and someone that cared for everyone. He had three beautiful children, Brittany (Tae), Ashlee and Riley, who he cared greatly for.

Randy is survived by his three children, Brittany Cook, Ashlee Cook and Riley Cook; his dad, Jim Cook; mom, Barbara Newman; brother, Stacey (Melissa) Cook, and niece and nephew, Sabre' and Tristan Cook; his brother, Darren Cook, and niece and nephew, Alex and Beau Cook; stepdad, Barry Newman; and many friends and loved ones he considered family.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to a trust established for his children; Randy Cook Trust Memorial Fund, at any Alpine Bank.

A public viewing will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014, from 5 - 7:00 p.m. The burial will be at Orchard Mesa Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday January 7, 2014. The memorial service will follow at the Canyon View Vineyard Church Sanctuary at 2:00 p.m.
