1927-2013

Betty Elizabeth (Colvin) Cain was born on June 27 , 1927 in South Flomaton, Florida to Dewey Colvin and Bettie Harriet Cofield Colvin. She was a lifelong resident of Escambia County, Florida. She was a real-life "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II where she worked at Pensacola NAS. She was retired from Monsanto Company and was a member of Brownsville Baptist Church. She enjoyed bowling and CB radio but most of all she enjoyed & loved her large family and many friends.

She passed away just before midnight on December 29, 2013 at The Health Care Center of Pensacola where she had been a resident for 2 1/2 years and was cared for there with love and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Bettie Colvin; her husband, Wilford A. Cain; her son, Christopher "Bob" Cain; two brothers, Dewey Colvin, Jr. and David Colvin, Sr., and a sister, Peggy Poole Adams.

She is survived by daughters, Toni Moody (Jim) and Donna Cain; a son Gary Cain and sisters, Carolyn Huggins and Dianna Zschiedrich.

Nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and four great-great- grandchildren as well as numerous nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2014 with Funeral service to follow at 12:30 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home. Burial at Barrancas National Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Mark Moody, Jay Moody, Michael Camp, Bill Huggins, Richard Zschiedrich and Kevin Adams.
