Marshall Barry Martin, 70, died on January 3, 2014 at his home. He was born in Decatur on December 20, 1943. He was a life long member of Austinville United Methodist Church. A graduate of Decatur High School in 1962, and Florence State in 1967, he was employed in the optic business for over 30 years and was a co-founder of Athens Optical Dispensary. He was currently employed by Decatur City Schools as a bus driver. He was a past member and President of the Athens Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his parents Hazel Waits Martin, Gordon Freeman Martin and Marshall TP Smith. He is survived by his wife of almost 48 years, son, two daughters, sister, two brothers, six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral: January 6, 2014 at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel.
