Daniel L. Gutierrez, 85, of Monte Sereno, CA passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Our Lady of Fatima Villa.
Born in Merced, CA in in 1927, Dan touched many lives with his warmth, kindness and love. The youngest of 11 children, Dan graduated from Merced High School in 1946 and went on to earn a business degree from San Jose State College.
Dan's professional career spanned 33 years at IBM, working in various leadership and management roles ultimately retiring at age 56. During retirement Dan enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his garden and relaxing at his cabin in Lake Tahoe. Dan enjoyed working around the house and never met a project too large to tackle.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Doris; devoted children David (Marsha) of Morgan Hill, Don (Donna) of Solon, Ohio, Diane Bucher (Patrick) of Monte Sereno and granddaughters Mia Gutierrez of Morgan Hill, Alyssa and Grace Gutierrez of Solon, OH and Carolyn and Natalie Bucher of Monte Sereno.
Family and friends are invited to viewing on Thursday, April 4 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m., rosary at 7 p.m. at Darling Fisher Chapel of the Hills and Funeral Mass Friday, April 5 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's in Los Gatos.
