Polo Anglin, 89, of Stuart, died Saturday, June 15, 2002, at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center.
He was born in Patrick County on Dec. 15, 1912, to the late Walter Anglin and the late Nora "Ninnia" Cox Anglin. Also preceding him in death were his wife of 64 years, Edith Bryant Anglin; a brother, Arko D. Anglin; and a sister, Iris A. Via.
A Realtor and businessman, he formerly served on the Stuart Town Council and as Stuart's fire chief. He was a member of the Stuart Lions Club, the Stuart Baptist Church, the Patrick County Historical Society and an honoree of the Patrick-Henry Allied Families of Virginia.
Surviving are one daughter , Goldie A. Hagen of Shawnee, Okla.;[one son , Roger Anglin of Roanoke]; two grandchildren; two brothers, Byng Anglin of Roanoke and C.W. Anglin of Woolwine.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Stuart Baptist Church, with the Revs. Bucky Hunsicker and Ben Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
