She was born November 11, 1940 in Dorcas, WV and was a daughter of the late Vance Hines and Ethel (Vance) Hines.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Hardy Cosner on August 4, 2008; brother-in-law, Howard Hardy and sister-in-law, Norma Hardy Hiser.
Ann graduated from Petersburg High School. She was a teachers aide at Petersburg Elementary School for 30 years. She was active in the Petersburg Memorial Church of the Brethren.
Ann is survived by her husband of 53 years, Carl O. Hardy; one daughter, Lisa Hardy McMasters, son-in-law, Michael P. McMasters and granddaughter, Heather Diane McMasters of Dover, DE; son-in-law, Michael W. Cosner and grandson, Wesley Carl Cosner both of Petersburg, WV.
Also surviving is one sister, Norma Jean Halterman of LaMesa, CA; five brothers, Leon (Alice) Hines of Manassas, VA., Harold "Pete" (Nellie) Hines of Petersburg, WV, Roger (Johnnie) Hines of Cobb, GA., Joe Hines of Dorcas, WV and Don (Debbie) Hines of Reedsville, WV; two brother-in-laws, Lyle Hardy of Petersburg, WV and Victor (Betty) Hardy of Fisher, WV; four sister-in-laws, Lura Hardy Evans and Helen Hardy Hyre both of Petersburg, WV, Janie Hardy Riggleman of Seaford, DE and Annalee Hardy (Don) Graham of Fort Ashby, WV. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Sunday 5 – 8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Monday 1 p.m. (Jan. 6, 2014) at the Schaeffer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Harold Cullers and Rev. Larry M. Cantu officiating. Interment will follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Petersburg, WV.
