Archpriest of Montecatone for 60 years, Don Cesare Mariani was a native of Ponticelli d'Imola, Province of Bologna, Italy, and was ordained to the Priesthood by Bishop Luigi Tesorieri upon concluding his studies at the Seminary of Imola on May 23, 1891. After serving as chaplain of Riolo Bagni and Mezzocolle, on November 19, 1895, he was appointed archpriest of the parish of San Biagio of Montecatone d'Imola, in which position he served for the next 60 years until his death at the age of 86 on April 5, 1955.
