Oregon was a son of William J. Mastin and Mary Sophia McCombs. He was a gr-grandson of Sophia McGillivary, sister of Alexander McGillivary, Chief of the Lower Creeks of Alabama prior and during the Rev War. He was a very powerful and well educated man. His sister was as powerful as he was.

Oregon McComb Mastin, born August 14, 1845 in Wetumpka (Elmore County) Alabama; died January 22, 1902 in Wetumka(Hughes County) Oklahoma,Indian Territory. He married Josephine S. Norris December 18, 1879 in Wetumpka (Elmore County) Alabama.

"Oregon served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He enlisted 8 Sept 1863 at Tallassee, Alabama, serving in Company G, 53 Alabama Cavalry Partisan Rangers, which was commanded by his cousin, Captain Peter Blackwell Mastin, Jr.

Notes for Oregon McComb Mastin:
Oregon served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He enlisted 8 Sept 1863 at Tallassee, Alabama, serving in Company G, 53d, Alabama Cavalry Partisan Rangers, which was commanded by his cousin, Captain Peter Blackwell Mastin

After trhe war he returned to Wetumpka, Alabama where he lived on his farm until he removed to Oklahoma Indian Territory about 1890. Being 1/8th Creek Indian, he received 160 acres of land in allotment in the Mission Bottom about 4 miles east of Wetumka, Oklahoma. He died of pneumonia 22 January 1902 and is buried in the "Old Wetumka Indian Mission Cemetery" approximately 4 miles east of Wetumka.

He and Josephine had no children of their own but adopted Norris W. Conner, who was a nehew of Josephine's.

Oregon is buried in the "Old" Wetumka Demetery loacated about 1/2 mile due north of the Levering Creek Indian Mission located in the mission bottom.

Willam A Laporte, whom we owe for the info on Oregon says "I haven't found where his wife was buried."
