John Krug, Jr., age 82, of Edwardsville, Kansas passed away suddenly after a long fight with Multiple Sclerosis at the Golden Care Nursing Home on January 1, 2014. John was born on July 30, 1931 in West Bend, Iowa. He lived the majority of his life in West Bend before moving to Kansas in 1992. John served in the United States Navy where he was based in Japan for 4 years during the Korean War.

On December 5, 1965 he married LaVonne Teel of West Bend, Iowa. She and John were married for 48 years. John is survived by his wife LaVonne; 4 children, Larry (Marsha), Leon (Maria), Mike (Lynn), and Patricia Campbell (Matt); and 12 grandchildren who he loved dearly; Angela, Jeremy, Andrew, Aaron, Emily and Kaitlyn Krug; Tyler, Kelsey, Brianna, Brittney and Laurie Campbell; and Amy Shaver. John also
has 2 great grandchildren Matthew Wells and Emery Watters. John is also survived by one sister, Lois Studer of Graettinger, Iowa; along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were parents John and Anna, sisters; Mary Prentice, Margaret Girres, and brothers; Clarence, Ben, and Kenton Krug.

John was a mechanic for J.B. Mertz & Son in West Bend, Iowa for 30 years. He also loved working on small engines and cars during his time off. John and LaVonne Krug moved to Edwardsville, Kansas in 1992 because John was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis which had progressed over the years. John loved hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his entire family. John Krug, Jr. will be honored and buried in the Veterans National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas.
