Donna Mae Hooper Garrison, 75, of St. Marys, passed away May 20, 2014, at Camden Clark Medical Center, surrounded by the love of her seven daughters.

She was born Jan. 4, 1939, on Federal Ridge in Pleasants County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Tyndall and Rosa McCullough Hooper. She retired as head cook of Pleasants County Middle School in June 2001. She had previously worked at Carehaven of Pleasants in the housekeeping department and had cleaned several homes and businesses in the area. She was a 1956 graduate of St. Marys High School, a member of the Mt. Pleasant Church and a member of the Hebron CEOS. She was a member of the AMVETS Auxiliary, and actively supported Pleasants County Habitat for Humanity. She was a member of the Silver Needles and the Calcutta Quilters. She especially enjoyed quilting, making baskets, painting, reading and loved to watch westerns.

The family would like to thank her in-home caregivers, Dr. Byler and staff and the doctors and staff at Camden Clark Medical Center.

She is survived by her seven daughters, Velinda (Bob) Cumblidge of St. Marys, W.Va., Mary (Charlie) Chambers of Clarington, Ohio, Peggy (Pat) Boyles, St. Marys, W.Va., Marsha (Terry) Pinkerton of St. Marys, W.Va., Barbara (Steve) Bills of St. Marys, W.Va., Judy Garrison of Clarington, Ohio, and Teresa (Daniel Purdy) Garrison of Marietta, Ohio; five grandchildren, Brandi Stacks of Morgantown, W.Va., Eric Cumblidge of Parkersburg, W.Va., Kristin Boley of St. Marys, W.Va., Megan Butler of Marietta, Ohio, and Katie Pinkerton of St. Marys, W.Va.; two great-grandchildren, Kamryn Boley of St. Marys, W.Va., and Ryannon Stacks of Morgantown, W.Va.; two sisters, Geraldine (Bob) Stewart of Newport, Ohio, and Nancy (Bill) Stewart of Sistersville, W.Va.; two brothers, David (Linda) Hooper and Michael Hooper, all of St. Marys, W.Va.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Edwin L. Garrison; mother-in-law, Geraldine Garrison; brother-in-law, Larry V. Michael; and sister-in-law, Norma Jean Winland.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 23, at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, W.Va. Interment will be in the Maple Lane Masonic Cemetery in Hebron, W.Va. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today and noon-2 p.m. Friday, May 23, at the funeral home.
