Shawn David Ricker, age 42, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at his home. He was welcomed into Heaven and now joyously is in the presence of the Lord.

He attended First Church of God in Greeneville.

He was a loving father to his two children, Colin and Kara Ricker, and a loving son to his mother, Martha Ottinger, and father, Ronnie Ricker, and step mother, Angie Ricker, and step father, Steve Ottinger. He had a special bond with his sister, Melissa Babb. He was also a father to two children he raised as his own, Brianna Totman and Daniel Oates.

He was a 19 year employee of Parker Hanifin and a graduate of Phoenix University with a degree in criminal justice.

He especially enjoyed having Jamie Horner as a life-long friend and loved his aunts, uncles, and cousins in Tennessee and Georgia.

In addition, he is survived by his brother-in-law, Tracy Babb; aunts: Lois Jaynes, Kathy Harmon, Brenda Davis, Jean Samples, Faye Samples, Vickie Samples and Becky Ricker; uncles: Eddie Samples, Danny Samples, Jerry Ricker, Bobby Gene Ricker, and Royce Davis; special nephews: Lance and Brennan Babb; and step sister: TeAnna Huff.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents: Greer and Bea Samples; paternal grandparents: Ralph and Eulalia Ricker; and uncles: Buddy Samples and Bob Jaynes.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 5-7pm Saturday, January 4, at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 7pm in the funeral home chapel following visitation with Pastor Gerald Rudd, Pastor Dale Gruver and Pastor Stephen Aiken officiating.

Interment will be at 2pm Sunday, January 5, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Greeneville. Family and friends are asked to meet at 1:15pm at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Horner, Eddie Samples, Jerry Ricker, Colin Ricker, Lance Babb, and Tracy Babb.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Hensley, Danny Samples, Kelly Ricker, Jason Ricker, Chris Horner, James Jaynes, Michael Davis, Randy Davis, Kecia Wisecarver, Bob Boswell, and friends and co-workers at Parker-Hanifin.
