Henninger was a crane operator in the ingot mold foundry of Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 45 years until retiring in 1983.
Born in Lower Saucon Township, he was a son of the late George R. and Elsie S. (Sterner) Henninger.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Jr. of Bethlehem and Ronald W. of Warwick, N.Y.; daughter, Linda B., wife of Edward Moyzan of Bethlehem; brothers, Willard L. and Howard H., both of Coopersburg; sisters, Florence A., wife of Orval Bauder, and Marian M., wife of Albert Schneider, both of Hellertown, and Mildred A. Kunkle of Coopersburg; stepson, Richard W. Brader of Bethlehem; stepdaughters, Betty Jane Keller and Patricia Ann Merkle, both of Bethlehem; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
