She was born in New York, but living in Philadelphia in 1900 with her widowed mother and her siblings. She was married first to Matthew Joseph Lawrence. Catherine and Matthew had two children: Matthew J. Lawrence Jr (born about 1909) and Catharine Lawrence (born 1917-1918.) Her husband died in 1948; Catherine remarried in 1955 to Charles Chepigan (he and his wife had been the Lawrence's next-door-neighbors in the 1910s.) She is buried with her first husband.
