Margreta L. Masters, age 88, of Brookville, died Friday, February 17, 2012 at Woodland Country Manor in Somerville, Ohio, where she had been a resident for over four years.

Born December 12, 1923 in Liberty, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Walter & Pearl (Nolan) Estridge. She graduated from the former Brookville High School with the Class of 1942. On August 12, 1944 she became the wife of Arthur G. Masters, and he preceded her in death on February 26, 2000. After their marriage, they settled on their farm in Blooming Grove Township.

Mrs. Masters lived most of her life in Franklin County, and had worked at the former Federal Land Bank in Brookville. She was a lifelong member of the Brookville Church of Christ, where earlier in her life she taught Sunday school, and DVS classes, she was a member of the church Womens Group where she worked for many years collecting donations of clothing and food for families in need; she was also a member of the Blooming Grove Homemakers Club.

For as long as she was physically able, she was instrumental in organizing the Estridge Family Reunion each year, bringing families together from many states to visit and keep in touch.

Survivors include one sister, Shirleen Sherwood of Hamilton, Ohio, two brothers, Herbert Estridge of Brookville, Indiana and Walter Estridge of Arlington, Texas; two brothers-in-law, Ralph Jester of Brookville, and Robert Jacobson of Cincinnati, Ohio as well as many Nieces & Nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Arthur, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ethel Jacobson, Christina Giese, Mattie Jester; two half-sisters, Zella Hazelwood and Beulah McQueen, and one brother, James Estridge; two brothers-in-law, Glenn Giese and Rodney Sherwood.

Rev. Jim Webster will officiate the Funeral Services at 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, with burial following in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.

Family & friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. till the time of the services at 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
