Beatrice Jane (Bea) Goodrich Hoppenrath, 86, formerly of Champlin and Hill City, died Nov. 11, 2013, in East Wenatchee, Wash.

A Celebration of Life service was held Nov. 16 at Trinity United Methodist Church in East Wenatchee, Wash.

Arrangements were with Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee, Wash.

Bea was born Oct. 12, 1927, in Dayton Township, Hennepin County, to George Foster and Elsie Alice Dougherty Goodrich. She lived in Champlin and graduated from high school at Anoka.

She married Glenn W. Hoppenrath Oct. 11, 1946, at the Champlin Methodist Church. They had two children. In 1963, the family moved to Hill City area, where they built and operated the Willow Inn, a bar and restaurant.

In 1973, she and Glenn moved to Arizona, settling in Gisela in 1985. They were both active in the volunteer fire department, Arizona bluegrass festivals, community center, and Gisela Community Church. In 2005, she relocated to East Wenatchee, Wash., to be near her daughter and lived with her granddaughter and family.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Anoka County Historical Society, Anoka County Genealogical Society, and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 69 in Payson, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and two sisters; husband, Glenn, in 1994; son, Robert, in 2001; and her son-in-law, Michael Gowell, in 2006.
