A native and resident of Buncombe County most of her life, she was a Caregiver and Homemaker, member of Faith Tabernacle (Vineyard Fellowship) and was associated with the Blind Center-Low Vision Center.
Mrs. Beathard was the daughter of the late Edwin Joseph Lipe and Margaret Mellissa Johnson Lipe and wife of the late John William Beathard, Sr. who died in 1988. She was also preceded in death by her son, John William Bill Beathard, Jr., daughter-in-law, Carlene Beathard and brother, Herbert Lipe.
Surviving are her daughter, Peggy Yarborough and husband, Dan of Apex; sons, Jerry Beathard and wife, Judy of Durham, Tommy Beathard and wife, Tess of Asheville, with whom she made her home; grandchildren, Linda Rochlus, Wilma Jones, Marvin Yarborough, Mike Yarborough, Kim Rumple and Val Keith; 17 great-grandchildren and brother, Rev. Thomas T.S. Lipe.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Friday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Revs. Thomas T.S. Lipe, Jerry Watts and Marvin Yarborough officiating.
