ulie Ann Peters, 45, of Viroqua and formerly of Janesville and Juneau, passed away on Friday morning, Dec. 13, 2013, at the Mayo Clinic Health Care System in La Crosse.

She was born on May 4, 1968, in Milwaukee to James Raymond and Anna Marie (Offerdahl) Peters. She graduated from Juneau High School in 1986 and 1991 received her Master of Science Degree in Business from the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater. She had worked at the library at the university and the Whitewater city library. She also had worked for the City of Whitewater Chamber of Commerce. As a young girl she enjoyed very much going to her maternal grandparents, Ingvold and Irene Offerdahl's farm at rural Readstown. She loved animals and will be sadly missed by her current feline friends, Merlin and Libby. July endured many health challenges in her short life and was in the process of moving from Janesville to the Bethel Birchwood Community in Viroqua to be close to her mother. She had moved on Dec. 8, 2013, to the Bethel Home in Viroqua for rehab after suffering a heart attack. On Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, she suffered a massive heart attack. Although she died at a young age she enjoyed the anticipation of moving to Viroqua.

Julie Ann is survived by her mother, Anna Marie Peters of Viroqua; one brother, Daniel Peters of Enterprise, Kan.; a maternal uncle, Roger Rose of Viroqua; other relatives and friends. She also leaves to mourn her special friend, Amy Pilsner, who attended grade school, high school and college with her. Amy's husband, Mike, who Amy met at Whitewater, were very supportive of Julie. Over the years Marek Borowski of Janesville, Chuck Schams of Onalaska and Kenny Kalscheur of Brookings, S.D., also provided much support and friendship to Julie.

Julie was preceded in death by her father, James Peters on June 30, 2009; her maternal aunt, Ilene June Rose on June 25, 2013; and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at the Thorson Funeral Home in Viroqua with Pastor Kathy Ingbritsen officiating. Burial was in the Viroqua Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to Vernon County Humane Society, Viroqua library or charity of their choice.
