She was born July 2, 1963, in Chicago to Marian K. Brown, and she was adopted and raised by John W. Bell and Mildred (Bass) Bell.
She participated in the Special Olympics and worked at Honda in a special jobs coaching program.
She was preceded in death by her mother; her parents; one aunt, Mary Ellen Brown; and one uncle, Paul Brown.
She is survived by one brother, Tommy Moore (Linda) of Terre Haute; two sisters, Anita Bell of Terre Haute and Ruth Sherlock of Indianapolis; great-grandmother, Mary Brown of Terre Haute; two special nieces, Dedra Tyler (the Rev. Ronald) and Dorothy Johnson, both of Terre Haute; nephew, Lester A. Cohen (Julie) of Terre Haute; a special aunt, Catherine Hayden of Terre Haute; two uncles, Louis Brown of Gary and James Brown (Hadassah); a devoted friend, Charity; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church 1001 S. 15th St., with the Rev. Terry Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until services. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
