Mrs. Hammonds died Saturday at Jacksonville Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Hammonds of Anniston; parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Jesse Steele of Anniston; and a brother, David Steele of Columbus, Georgia.
Pallbearers were Charles Price, Bobby Hendricks, Kenneth Page, Terry Brown, Greg Brown, Andy Weems, Pete Haynes, John Cassell and Johnny Wasser.
Mrs. Hammonds was a native of Alabama and was a resident of Calhoun County for the past 29 years. Previously she had lived in Roanoke and attended Handley High School. She was retired from the Chemical School at Fort McClellan. She was a well-known musician and a member of First Baptist Church of Weaver, where she served as a pianist for 20 years.Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Weaver Building Fund.
