Businessman. Creator of Reddi-wip, whipped cream in an aerosol can. Nicknamed Bunny, in French Lapin means rabbit, he became what Time magazine called one of the century's most influential inventors. A clothing salesman turning to the food business in the early 1940's, he sold the product through milkmen in St. Louis. Distribution spread throughout the U.S. and Canada. Within years he was worth millions and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch called him "Bunny Lapin, Whipped Cream King". The company he founded, Clayton Corp. was also one of the first companies to put shaving cream in aerosol cans. He was educated at University of Missouri and retained his ties to St. Louis all his life though he had homes in New York, Los Angeles and Miami.
