Obituary - Adrian E. Cox, age 76, passed away January 18, 1998, ending a long struggle with Parkinson's disease.

He was born December 29, 1921, in Bountiful, Utah, the youngest of Walter and Eliza Ann Mawby Cox.

He was raised in Bountiful and lived all of his adult life in Layton. He graduated from Davis High School in 1940 where he participated in football and track.

On April 12, 1942, he married Lucille Flint. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Feb. 28, 1956. His working career included 23 years at Hill Air Force Base, hiring on as one of the first employees and retiring as a manager; also 23 years with First National Bank, retiring in 1985 as a senior vice president.

Adrian is a member of the LDS Church where he served many memorable years as a stake clerk. He was currently a High Priest in the Green Briar Ward.

Dad was very proud of his service in the U S Air Force, flying as a flight engineer on board a B-24 over Europe during World War II, where he earned many medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a true patriot loving country and flag. He was raised by a mother who was a devoted gardener where he developed a love of the same. He also enjoyed his wood shop, camping with family, fishing and cats. Dad was a quiet, hard-working man who enjoyed above all, his family, extended family and home.

Adrian is survived by his wife, Lucille; three sons, A. Dennis (Joyce) Cox, Layton; Steven P. (Tamara) Cox, Kaysville; Preston A. (Melissa) Cox, Layton; one daughter, Tina (Mike) Casey, North Ogden; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, John A. (Millie) Cox, Ogden; and two sisters, Gloria Mitchell, Boise, ID; and Janis Siems, Bountiful. He was preceded in death by parents; one brother, Walter L. Cox. and one sister, Sue Cox Miller.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998, at Myers Mortuary of Layton, 250 North Fairfield Road. Friends may call 10 to 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, prior to services.

Interment in Kaysville City Cemtery.
