Marjorie Bernice Muller, 87, a 13 year resident of Lacey, died January 20, 2002 at Panorama City Convalescent Center.

Born in Montesano on April 7, 1914, she was the daughter of Joseph and Alta (Stone) Briscoe. Her great-grandfather, Isaiah Scammon, was the first settler on the original site of Montesano, and the Scammon home was the first courthouse of Chehalis County, later renamed Grays Harbor County.Marjorie graduated from Montesano High School in 1932 and attended Grays Harbor College.

She married Edwin Muller October 15, 1938 in Montesano. He preceded her in death on June 1996. She was retired from Lawrence and Macan Fuel Company in Hoquiam.Marjorie was a life member and past worthy matron of Wynooche Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Briscoe, and sisters Edith Thompson and Mary Huston.Surviving are her son and daughter-in law, Thomas and Jean Muller of Olympia; sister, Beatrice "Billie" Roberts of Montesano; nephew Stanley Thompson of San Diego. and niece Julie Trautman of Olympia.A graveside service was conducted January 24th at the Wynooche Cemetery in Montesano by Whiteside Family Mortuary of Montesano.In lieu of flowers, contributions to Children's Hospital Foundation or the Salvation Army are suggested.
