Sam Henry Horton, 77, of 227 Horseshoe Bend Drive, Cowpens, S.C. passed away 24 June 2015.
Born in Cherokee county, S.C. he was the son of the late William Cody Horton and Fannie McCraw Horton.
He was of Baptist faith and a Mason in good standing.
Mr. Horton was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Patricia, two brothers, Bobby Horton and Russell Horton, and two sisters, Melissa Wilborn and Sara Horton.
He is survived by three sons, Terry Glenn Horton and wife Terry, Jerry Lynn Horton and wife Pam, both of Chesapeake, Va., and Michael Sam Horton of Greenville; two grandchildren, Kenneth Lynn Horton and wife Angela and Rachel Delores Horton; two Great-grandchildren, Noah Michael Horton and Jacob Matthew Horton, all of Chesapeake, Va.; two brothers, Jack Horton and wife Diane of Gaffney, and James Horton and wife Norma of Spartanburg, numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Blakely Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2015 in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
