William's first wife was *not* Rachel E.A. McCRAY as shown in some secondary accounts. Rachel E.A. (McCRAY) WYATT (1837-1898) was their daughter-in-law, married to their son, John Thompson WYATT (1828-1893).
I have no power to edit William's record, so I will state this here: I know of no primary record giving William middle name, "Thompson." In all records I'm aware of, he simply has middle initial, "T."
There's a possibility he is a son of Thomas William WYATT & Mary NEEDHAM, so I would bet the "T." stands for "Thomas," not "Thompson." However, this connection is *not* proven.
