Rachel THOMPSON, daughter of Peter THOMPSON and sister of the noted preacher, Rev. Thomas THOMPSON, was the first wife of William T. WYATT. They were married 19 Jan 1825 in Todd Co., KY.

William's first wife was *not* Rachel E.A. McCRAY as shown in some secondary accounts. Rachel E.A. (McCRAY) WYATT (1837-1898) was their daughter-in-law, married to their son, John Thompson WYATT (1828-1893).

I have no power to edit William's record, so I will state this here: I know of no primary record giving William middle name, "Thompson." In all records I'm aware of, he simply has middle initial, "T."

There's a possibility he is a son of Thomas William WYATT & Mary NEEDHAM, so I would bet the "T." stands for "Thomas," not "Thompson." However, this connection is *not* proven.
