Mary was a self proclaimed lover of animals, nature, art and people. Her career and love of art spans over many years. A student of Albright Art Gallery in Buffalo, she studied under Kachadoorian in Dearborn, MI. She was an art director of Terry Art Institute of Miami and belonged to the Coconut Grove Art Council. She was a licensed art restorer in Dade County and judged many art shows over a 30 year period. She has taught oil painting, china painting, sculpture and ceramics and also taught handicapped children. She has many paintings to her credit.
Mary moved to Hollywood, CA as a newlywed, then to Michigan and finally to Miami where she resided for 30 years.
Another hobby was taking photos. Her photographs were displayed in many art shows and she received many awards. Her next move was to Lake Wales and then on to St. Petersburg. Her first love was painting. She claimed to be addicted to painting and felt compelled to paint each and every day. We know that she has already set up an art table and has started to paint the sky's beautiful colors.
Mary never met a stranger, and was a friend to everyone. Her joy and fullness of life and art will live in our hearts forever.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Barbara (Andy) Zaccaria, St. Petersburg and Demaris (George) Quintero, Miami, grandchildren Scott (Penny) and Michelle (Javier), and great grandchildren, Hunter, Nicole, Nicholas and Jake.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at Brett Funeral Home, 4810 Central Ave. Burial to follow at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park, Largo.
