Services for Clinton Leon Sanders, 86, of Huntington, will be held in the Zavalla Pentecostal Church, with Bro. Dub Bullard officiating. Interment will follow in the Zavalla Cemetery.
Mr. Sanders was born January 24, 1927, the son of the late Lena (Martin) and Thomas Jessie Sanders. He passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Sanders was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. To him, special time was being with family. He enjoyed the family BBQing, dancing, picking his guitar, playing his favorite music – old time classical country and Cajun. And fishing was one of his favorite activities. Mr. Sanders was funny, had a good sense of humor and enjoyed picking on everyone. He was a retired truck driver.
Survivors include his son, Tommy Leon Sanders (girlfriend Suzanne Ashcraft); daughter, Tammy Lee Sanders; sister, Jessie Lee Gibson; grandchildren, Krystal Ann Sanders, Chandler Jay Sanders, Matthew Vincent Moore, Jacob Moore and Bryan Moore; great-granddaughter, Alice Nicole Moore; sister-in-law, Juanita Sanders; and a number of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Fay Sanders; brother, Cecil Sanders; and sisters, Dorothy Freeman, Annie Mae Peden and Elwanda Ray.
Family members will serve as pallbearers for Mr. Sanders.
