Alice Woodruff was born on Feb. 14, 1879, in Sacramento, KY. She was the eldest of ten children. Her father, Wilson Miller, was an honest and hard-working tobacco farmer, and Alice and her brothers and sisters knew the hard work of planting and caring for tobacco. On June 19, 1898, she married Gus Wells in McLean Co., KY. When she was only 25 years old, she was left a widow with two small girls to raise. In 1907, she and her girls came to Oklahoma with her father and mother. They made their home south of Hydro, OK. Alice married L. B. Wyatt in 1908, and a son was born, but they were divorced in 1909. She returned to KY for a few years, then returned to Oklahoma and made her home in Eakly for 45 years. She married Mr. Woodruff after her return to OK, and he preceded her in death. She was age 96 years, 9 months and 1 day at the time of her death.
