"Mr. Fitzgerald"
"Lawrence Ray fitzgerald, 75, of Adamsville died Dec. 27, 2013, at his residence.
A funeral service was Dec. 30 at Adamsville Presbyterian Church. Burial was at hines Chapel Cemetery near Adamsville.
Mr. fitzgerald was born April 29, 1938, in Wharton, the son of Malcolm O. and Wilma Menking Fitzgerald.
He married Mary Louise Reynolds on June 27, 1959, in Hunt.
Mr. fitzgerald lived in Port Lavaca for over 30 years. He retired from Alcoa, and the couple moved to Adamsville,where they lived for 20 years.
Mr. Fitzgerald served on the Olivia-Port Alto Fire Department for many years and was fire chief.
He also was head scout for the Old Chisholm Trail Riders from Cuero.
He was a member of the Boat Club and the Faternal Order of the Eagles.
Survivors include his wife of Adamsville; a daughter and her husband, Peggy and Stephen Lee of Deer Park; a son, James Ray Fitzgerald and wife, Ginger, of Leander; two sisters and their husbands, Karen and David Johnson of Comfort, and Loria and Vic Hollender of Harper; a brother, Wayne Fitzgerald of Granbury; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Lacey, Julie, Christina, Kevin and David; and four great-grandchildren, Colton, Makayla, Ava, and Marie.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Fitzgerald.
Memorials may be made to Adamsville Presbyterian Church or Adamsville Volunteer Fire Department."
