Mrs. L. R. Armstrong died suddenly Thursday evening of last week from heart trouble. She had been sitting in her chair reading. Her son Harry was in the room, and the first he noticed his mother's illness was when she gasped for breath a few times. In a short time she was dead. Matilda Ann Aller was born October 21, 1845, on the farm north of the Carrollton fair grounds, and died at the same place. She was was married to L. R. Armstrong on March 7, 1867. Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong were the parents of seven children, all of whom are living and all were present at the funeral except Miss Cora, of Denver. They are: Elmer and Harry Armstrong and Mrs. Anna Snively, of Carrollton; Jesse Armstrong, of Chicago; Mesdames Ida Krichbaum and Marie Cunningham, of Cleveland, and Cora, of Denver, Colorado. Mrs. Armstrong is survived by five brothers and two sisters: G. H. Aller, of Hudson; W. G. Aller, of Chicago; Dr. S. N. Aller, of Continental; John J. Aller, Rev. A. T. Aller, of Ossawatamie, Kansas; Mrs. Maria L. Keller, of Logan; and Mrs. Alisebeth Long, of Carrollton. Mrs. Armstrong was for many years a member of the Presbyterian Church, and a conscientious christian. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, and a Kind neighbor. "Her children rise up and call her blessed." The funeral service was conducted by Rev. C. W. Harshman on Monday and interment was made in Grandview cemetery.
