Forrest Dale "Bud" Harris, born Feb 6, 1933, in Lometa, son of Dee H. and Mary Frances (Towerton) Harris, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 30th.

Bud was a loving husband, wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle. He worked throughout his lifetime as a rancher, cattle buyer, and loved riding a good horse, raising his sheep, and experiencing the beauty of the good Lord's creation. Bud served in United States Army and was stationed in Korea,

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gene Harris, and only son, Kenneth Dee Harris.

Bud is survived by his wife, Fannie Jo Brooks Harris, daughter, Terri Lynn Harris of Lometa, grandson, Shane Harris Laughlin and wife Lyncie, great grandson Axle Harris Laughlin, and soon expected new great grandchild, all of Lometa,a granddaughter, Brooke Ashley Harris of Austin, and brother William Dee Harris of Tombaugh, Texas.

Arrangements at Sneed Funeral Home, visitation Friday, at Sneed Funeral Chapel. A funeral service for Bud Harris will be held Saturday January 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Lometa Church of Christ with burial to follow at Center Cemetery.

Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to West Texas Boys Ranch in Bud's memory.
