Sarah Kendrick born to Jesse Kendrick and Mary Parker Kendrick married Joseph Reeves/Reaves Sr 02 May 1822 in Lauderdale County, AL. They lived in Lauderdale County until about 1845 then moved to Wayne County, TN where they resided until the Civil War began.
Sarah is found on the 1860 Census for McNary County, TN with 3 of her youngest children: Mary Ann, George W and Nancy Emaline. It is thought that Joseph was killed in the Civil War. The eldest children including Joseph Allen were already out of the household. Sometime in the early 1860's. Sarah and most of her children moved to Bell County, Texas where her brother Carroll Kendrick was residing. Sarah is listed on the 1870 Census for Bell County, Texas as living with her son George W Reeves. It was thought that Sarah died while visiting a sister in Missouri, however she is listed on the 1880 Mortality Schedule for Milam County, Texas. She died January 1880 at the age of 78. She had been a resident of Milam County, TX for 9 years.
