Marion Richard "Dick" Wolfe, age 95, of Richmond, died Sunday, December 29, 2013, at Arbor Trace Exceptional Senior Living Center. Born May 11, 1918, in Ada, Ohio, to Marion Orval and Bertha Bell Wilcox Wolfe, he lived in this area since 1950. Dick served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a telegraph and radar operator. He retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad as a telegraph operator, where he worked with his father. Dick had also worked at Lipscomb's and Nicholson Builders. He was very accomplished as a woodworker, cabinet and furniture maker, building many items for family and friends. Dick was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he was baptized in 2013, and the Centerville Abington Senior Center. He was an avid pool player. Survivors include his nieces and nephews, including Joyce W. Harris, Michael Harris, and Byron Harris, all of Kentucky, Byron Lewis of Hamilton, Ohio, and Jeff and Judy Jackson of Economy; and special friend, Carolyn Jay. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Louise Ravenstein Wolfe, to whom he was married in 1946; parents; brothers, Maynard Earl Wolfe, Floyd Leo Wolfe, and Francis Byron Wolfe; and special friend, Melville Jay. Visitation for Marion Richard "Dick" Wolfe will be from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Doan & Mills Funeral Home.
