She was born May 21, 1917, in West Mineral to Angelo and Margaherita Marchetti Albergucci.
She attended area schools and graduated from Cherokee High School in 1932.
She graduated from nurse's training at Newton Memorial Hospital Diploma School of Nursing in Winfield in 1940.
She became the supervisor of surgery in Winfield in 1942.
She attended and completed the comprehensive coronary care program hosted by the American Heart Association in Dayton, Ohio, in 1969 and the registered nurse clinician program at the University of Kansas Medical Center in 1973. She was the superintendent of Hays Private Hospital in Cedar Vale for 30 years, retiring in 1982.
She married Victor Maxwell Ferguson on May 6, 1965, in Sedan. He preceded her in death May 29, 1999.
She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Girard and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include one sister, Lega Simone of Pittsburg, and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Arkie Albergucci.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Fr. Donlad Thissen as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the Girard City Cemetery.
Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. today at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg.
