Craig Hunter Walker, 52, of Economy Boro, lost his 20 month battle with esophageal cancer on Sunday, December 29, 2013. His passing occurred peacefully at his home.

Born October 5, 1961, he was the son of the late Blaine and Vivian Louise (Fobes) Walker. Craig was a U.S. Navy veteran having served aboard the USS Kennedy aircraft carrier with the VF11 Red Rippers Flying Squadron during the invasion of Grenada in the 1980's. Skilled in computers, Craig had previously owned the Nu2U Computer Store in Ambridge.

He leaves his wife, Diane Carr Walker, to whom he was united in marriage on July 13, 2001, and five children: Jonathan, age 28; Niklas, age 17; Caleb, age 11; Emilie, age 9 and Laurel, age 3. He had three brothers and a sister: the late Paul Fobes and his wife, Carol and family; William (Bud) Walker and his wife, Suzie and family; a sister and her family in Monaca, and a brother and his family in Plano, TX, and twenty-three nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Thursday, January 2, 2014, from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 8 p.m. in the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca (724-728-4000). Mr. Joseph Lawrence, chaplain of Family Hospice and Palliative Care, will officiate.

Burial will take place in Economy Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to defray funeral expense.

The family wishes to thank all of the doctors, nurses and techs at North Hills Passavant Hospital and Cancer Center for all the care given to Craig.
