BURLINGTON, VT. - Gary William Turnbaugh, passed away on December 12th 2013 at his home in Burlington, Vt.

The elder of two children, Gary was born on December 29th 1952 in Burlington, Vt., to William Fredrick and Barbara Grace (Dilloway) Turnbaugh.

He graduated from Burlington High School in 1970, after which he moved to California, where he received an Associate of Arts degree in Film and Drama.

For several years, Gary operated a roofing company in the Los Angeles area with his cousin.

In the mid-eighties, Gary returned to his native Vermont, obtained a Real Estate Salesperson's license, and worked for some time in that capacity for Century 21 (Jack Associates).

Gary spent many years developing and obtaining a patent for a unique fishing lure. Of all his interests, however he will best be remembered for being an outdoorsman.

His enthusiasm for hunting and fishing was unsurpassed. It was not uncommon for Gary to spend an entire day holed up in an apple tree to catch sight of a deer.

Gary was predeceased by his father in 1990; and by his mother, and paternal stepsister, Heidi Ziemb, in 2001.

Arrangements by the Ready Funeral Home South Chapel on 261 Shelburne Road in Burlington, Vt.

A graveside service will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Burlington, Vt. at 11 a.m. on January 3rd 2014.
