Carla Lynn Stephens, 47, of Brackett, passed away at her home on November 1, 2005. She was born June 30, 1958, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Carl and Gloria Peterson. She was raised in Edina, Minn., and graduated from Edina West High School in 1976. She went on to receive a degree in photography from Hennepin County Technical College. Carla married Bill Stephens on September 16, 1997, in Chetek, Wis. She worked for the H & R Block District Office in Eau Claire. Carla dearly loved her cats and riding the Harley with Bill.She is survived by her husband, Bill Stephens; her mother, Gloria Peterson; three sisters, Ingrid (Larry) Ringgenberg, Amy Peterson and Judy Peterson; nieces and nephew, Matt, Jessica and Kristin Ringgenberg, her godchild; her stepson, Victor (Jodi) Stephens; and her stepgranddaughter, Brittani Stephens. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law, Marilyn Clark (friend, Ken Stelzig), Patricia (John) Skomars and Vickie Stephens; her brothers-in-law, John (Heather) Stephens, Joe (Diana) Stephens and Bob (Bernadette) Stephens and her two cats, Luke and Zipper.Carla was preceded in death by her father, Carl Peterson.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 3, 2005, at Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Simpson of Elk Creek Lutheran Church officiating.Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Thursday.Memorials may be given to the Eau Claire County Humane Association.Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
