Obituary - Mrs JB Mills
It is our sad and painful duty this week to chronicle the departure from our circle of friends of Bessie, beloved wife of J.B. Mills, Esquire, MP, and the daughter of AW Corbitt, Esquire, postmaster and a worthy resident of this town. Her life was a comparatively brief one, as she had only reached 32 years. Lately her sufferings had been very great from the malady which had long afflicted her and finally proved fatal, so that the dread keeper, although coming suddenly seemed almost to smite in kindness. The sad news cast a gloom over the community where she was so well and favorably known. The poor and needy lose in her a kind friend, as her heart and hand were ever ready to listen to and relieve their wants. Her husband is left with a family of 5 young children, - just at the age when a loving mother's care is most needed; and a large number of relatives and friends mourn with him them her early demise. Truly what loss can be greater than that of a loving mother, devoted wife, affectionate daughter and generous friend. We extend to the afflicted friends our sincere sympathy in their sad bereavement.
Her remains were interred in Woodlawn Cemetery on Tuesday, being followed to its last resting place by a large number of friends and relatives.
