Helen Marie Heald Hulgan Herrington, 82, of Huntsville, died Monday. Mrs. Herrington was a native of Norfolk, Nebraska, a Korean War Air Force veteran and received the National Defense Service Medal. She retired from the Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal, where she had been a computer specialist. She was a charter member of Women in the Military Service American Memorial, which is located at Arlington National Cemetery. She belonged to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.; Lupus Foundation of Northern California; Greater Huntsville Humane Society; National Association of Retired Federal Employees, American Legion Post #237, and was of the Presbyterian faith. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lora Lee Heald, her father, Major (USA Retired) Harry Clifford Heald, her first husband, Zack Anderson Hulgan, her second husband, Herris Haley Herrington, her sisters, Dorothy Heald Dennis and Mildred Heald Brewer, and her brother, SP2-C (U.S. Army) Edward Ames Heald. Survivors include nephews.
No visitation is planned. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Maple Hill Cemetery, Inc.
