=====================

Some people are saying that Jacob M. Arbaugh died in the Civil War and his place of burial is not known. However his date of death was 10 years before the start of the War Between The States, while the family was living in Johnson County, Arkansas. After his death, the family, led by Jacob E. Arbaugh, his son, moved to Franklin County and used the War of 1812 land grant to start a new farm.
I know that Francis Arbaugh, the father of Jacob M. Arbaugh is buried in Johnson County near Horsehead. It is probable that Jacob M. was buried there also. I think the graveyard is called Steele Cemetary of something close to it.
Finally, there were 3 cousins named Jacob Arbaugh who fought in the War Between The States. They were my g-grandfather Jacob Edward Arbaugh, who survived, and two others.
One of them fought for the north and was captured and executed early in the war while trying to recruit people to the Northern army.
The other one was, I think, also Jacob M. Arbaugh and married to a Carolyn Northern. I think he was killed sometime around 1863, but no guarantee on the date. These 3 were all much younger than the elder Jacob M, and in fact my G-grandfather did not get married until a couple of years after the war.
