He was born May 12, 1948 in Decatur to George Thomas and Pearl Coffee Lowe. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and two sisters.

He married Glenda Cheryl Wright on November 16, 1965. Surviving are his; sons, Danny J (Angie) Lowe Jr. and Thomas R. Lowe; brothers, Donald (Sandy) Lowe and Steve (Sherry) Lowe; sister, Betty (Lisle) Meador; two granddaughters and a grandson.

He worked as a core maker for Wagner Casting Company in Decatur until his retirement. After his retirement he went to work for Kelly Construction as a millwright.
