Skurdalsvollen -- meaning Skurdal Hill -- is a Farm Village (cluster) in the Teveldal area of the Meråker District of Trøndelag County, Norway.
Skurdalsvollen is 100 km (60 miles) east of Trondheim.

From Trondheim, Hiway E6 runs east, then at the Trondheim Airport and the town of Stjørdal, the E6 turns abruptly north.

At Stjørdal, the E14 begins, running due East for 70 km (45 miles) thru the Stjørdal Valley to the border with Sweden.

In addition, the Meråker Railway Line also runs east from Trondheim thru the Stjørdal Valley. It runs parallel to and north of Hiway E14, and carries both freight and passengers.

At the border with Sweden, the Meråker Railway Line changes name, and runs to Sweden's capital city of Stockholm.

The Skurdalsvollen Farm Village is 15 km (10 miles) east of the town of Meråker and 5 km (3 miles) west of the border with Sweden. This Farn Village lies on the north side of Hiway E14 -- halfway between Hiway 14 and the Meråker Railway Line.

The Teveldal Railway Station of the Meråker line is half-way between the Skurdalsvollen Farm Village and the Swedish border.

Five miles into Sweden on the E14, is the Storlien Ski Resort. The Skurdalsvold Farm Village is among the nearby places offering rental lodging to people who go to Storlien. The old Skurdalsvold Nedre Farmhouse is now a guesthouse, and there is also a row of newly constructed camping cabins.

"In a book by the reputed Norwegian professor Olaf Morgan Nordli at Luther College, Iowa III, published 1925, 'The History of the Norwegian People in America,' Johannes Jenssen Skördalsvold has been given the following description :

[ In 1869, at age 16, Johannes emigrated with his birth family from Norway to America. ]

" 'Since 1881, Johannes J. Skordalsvold
was a journalist, correspondent, translator and editor while writing poems, stories and articles, and was a teacher for 22 years.

- "In 1881, Professor Johannes J. Skurdalsvold graduated from Augsburg seminary
- "In 1888, graduated from the University of Minnesota
- "In 1888-1889, studied at the University of Berlin .

"From 1902 to 1912, Johannes ran 'Skördalsvold's Kveldsskole,' first in Nazareth church in Minneapolis and later in a small schoolhouse, which was his own. The main language was English. It happened that young people who came to school the same evening as they came from Norway. A total of about 1,500 people attended this school.

"'Among the teachers were Samuel Garborg - a brother of the poet Arne Garborg; Amandus Normann, Inga Dahl, and Thorvald Nilsen. Skördalsvold ended his school when the town of Minneapolis began with free tuition for such schooling.

"'From 1918, he was a proofreader at the Augsburg Publishing House.

" ' Professor Skördalsvold and wife Anne, b. Romundstad from Rindalen, Norway, have several children. Their son Magne Skurdalsvold
