Pauline C. Durler, 89, died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the Kansas Soldiers Home, Halsey Hall, Ft. Dodge, Kansas.

She was born December 25, 1924 at Windthorst, Kansas the daughter of Herman "Harry" and Catherine Heeke Schawe.

A lifetime area resident she was a homemaker and farm wife.

She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Daughters of Isabella, Altar Society and Happy Hour Extension Club all in Dodge City. She helped with Bingo at several nursing homes for a number of years as well as a past volunteer with the Red Cross Blood Mobile and Meals On Wheels.

On August 25, 1947 she married John E. Durler at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Dodge City. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2011.

Survivors include: 3 sons, Jerome Durler and wife Jolene, Dodge City; Maurice George Durler, Emporia and Kevin L. Durler and wife Jeannie, Dodge City; daughter, Ethel Schneweis and husband Mike, Dodge City; son-in-law, Steve Nufer, Dodge City; 2 sisters, Elizabeth Ackerman, Dodge City and Sr. Ancilla Schawe, Great Bend; 15 grandchildren, Sara Able, Amber Klein, Mark Durler, Tami Durler, Amanda Nufer, Stephanie Johnson, Erica Nufer, Lukas Durler, Deanna Durler, Lisa Stuckey, Kurt Schneweis, Kelly Schneweis, Laci Durler, Chad Durler and Todd Durler; and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Eileen Nufer; a brother, Albert Schawe, 3 sisters, Magdalene Ackerman, Virginia Gillogly and Gertrude Rueb.
