John A. Spradlin age 41 of Union Hall passed away Saturday October 23, 2010. John served his country in the U.S. Army with the 1st of 502 Infantry Division Just Cause, Panama Desert Storm, Saudia Arabia, he worked as a lineman for L.E. Myers Co. John's passion was his work, kayaking and Kinsley and Marley his two nieces and his Cat named Blue. He was preceded in death by is uncles JT Brooks and his aunt Trish Walker. Surviving are his mother Bernice Midkiff, a sister and husband Missy Schmidt and Luke, aunts and uncles Frances Payne and Barry, and Mike Walker, Nora Stokes and Tommy, two beloved nieces Kinsley and Marley Schmidt and many cousins and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday in Flora Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Long officiating. Interment will follow in the Brooks family Cemetery with military rites by the U.S. Army National Guard. His family will receive friends 6:00 til 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Service 665 South Main Street. Memorials may be made to Glade Hill Fire Department 2465 Jacks Mountain Road Glade Hill, Va
