Jeanne F. Maloney, 83, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away January 6, 2007 at Garden Terrace of Overland Park from Alzheimer's Disease. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 10 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11300 W. 103rd Street, Overland Park, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri. The family requests no flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Kansas City. Jeanne was born July 26, 1923 in Kansas City, Missouri, the second oldest of four children born to R. L. and Helen Faubion. She graduated from Southwest High School and the University of Kansas with a degree in English. She taught school for a short period of time, and then married Jim Maloney in 1946. She spent the next 25 years raising her family and participating in many church and school activities. She then joined the Hallmark family of companies and spent the next 20 years with Halls on the Plaza before retiring. She enjoyed her retirement years playing Bridge, volunteering at St. Joseph Hospital, entertaining friends and family, and traveling. Her strong faith and belief in Christ were an inspiration to all who knew her. Jeanne will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Maloney, Sr.; sons, James P. Maloney, Jr., Kevin J. Maloney, and Timothy S. Maloney; and a daughter, Kathleen Maloney Edson. Jeanne is survived by her sons, Terence Maloney of Overland Park, KS and Michael Maloney of South Kansas City, MO; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
